Hello, my name is Tracy Inglis and from January 4th 2020, I will be the school’s Family Liaison Officer, a role previously fulfilled by Tracey Thomas. Some of you may already know me, as I have been teaching in different year groups at Eastry since 2009. I am really looking forward to working with you in a new context and getting to know all of the other parents and carers that I have yet to meet.

As Family Liaison Officer, my role is to provide pastoral support to parents/carers and help with any issues that you may have in relation to supporting your children, both at home and in school. You can be assured that I will deal with all of your concerns impartially and confidentially . The most important thing is that you feel that you can approach me to deal with any issues, concerns that you may have – no matter how big or small. 2020 was a difficult year for all of us and presented us  with many new challenges. Having worked as a class teacher for many years, I know the importance of good communication between home and school if the best outcomes are to be secured for our children.

Eastry is a Head Start School which means that we support and champion efforts that promote good health and wellbeing.  Our curriculum teaching and learning promotes resilience together with good social and emotional wellbeing and our Christian Values of joy, welcoming, compassion, respect and perseverance underpin daily life at school and our approach to caring for the children. We will work closely with parents and carers to identify children’s needs and offer targeted support where appropriate. As well as additional learning support, the Teaching Staff and FLO are able to offer early interventions such as Drawing and Talking, Lego Therapy and the Head Start Resilience Conversation. We can also make referrals to agencies such as the Schools Nurses and Early Help.

I will be in school on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays of each week. I intend to be on the school gate at the end of each of those school days,  so please feel free to speak to me then. I can also be contacted on my school email tinglis@eastry.kent.sch.uk  or by telephoning me at the school.

I look forward to working with you all.

Best Wishes,

Tracy Inglis
