Dear children,
I just wanted to write a quick message to say ‘Good Morning’ to you all. I know that there have been a lot of changes again overnight but I wanted to let you know how proud I am of each and every one of you.
You all know there is a virus called Coronavirus or Covid- 19 which has meant that we can’t all be in school and lots of things that normally go on around us will have to stop for a while. There is a new strain (which means it’s spreading more easily) this means that more people have started catching the virus again. The best way to stop this virus making people unwell is for most people to stay home and not mix with others. This way we are looking after each other and keeping each other safer. I know you will all be brilliant and listen to your families. You have all adapted to so much change since the first lockdown in March last year and I know that you will embrace this adventure too.
Whether you are in school or at home all the teachers love and care for you. We still want to help you. We will be doing some lessons online and you will be able to see your teachers that way and share your learning with them. We will tell you more about this in the coming days.
I wanted to say thank you to you all for how you have followed all the rules in school since we all came back in September, you have done a great job.
So today may feel a bit strange. For most of you you’ll be back at home, trying to learn and embrace the sudden change. A few of you, you’ll be in school where you will be safe and looked after in smaller groups, so that your parents or carers who work in hospitals, or in the police, border forces, fire service, schools, care homes, food production, delivery, shops or other public services, can do their jobs to keep all of us safe and cared for. We are very proud of them. We are also proud of those people staying at home to help stop the germs spreading. We all have our part to play in this.
Your teachers and I will miss your smiling faces and look forward to seeing all that you get up to learning from home or in school. I’ll be in touch again soon.
Love
Mrs. Moss
